With more than 15 years of professional culinary experience, Missy actively leads Thyme Out operations in every capacity; from strategic business development and managing staff to creating delicious recipes and selecting the perfect ingredients. Missy’s innovative, fresh approach to food and unwavering commitment to high-quality ingredients and customer service has propelled Thyme Out to become a national leader in the industry. With revenues generating over $900,000 in the first 12 months of business, Thyme Out rapidly climbed to the top 10% of the industry nationally. As a result, Thyme Out’s role as an industry trailblazer has created a unique niche in the nation’s meal assembly marketplace.
Missy started her career in food service by working in restaurants in the Metro area, and went on to graduate from the prestigious L’Academie D’Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Maryland. As a trained gourmet chef, Missy has worked in every facet of the food industry, from professional chef to private cooking instructor to running her own successful catering business, Season to Taste, for five years. In 2006, Missy was inspired to merge her lifelong passion for food with the need to help time-starved people enjoy fresh, delicious meals, and realized her dream with the opening of Thyme Out. As one of the D.C. area’s first meal preparation stores, Thyme Out has received rave reviews for its fresh, flavorful meals and outstanding culinary creations. Thyme Out has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post and Bethesda Magazine, and the storerecently won “Best for Families” in Washington Family Magazine’s 2008 Reader’s Choice poll. Missy has also made regular guest appearances on local television affiliates NBC 4 and Fox 5, among others, and has been a featured speaker for a variety of groups in the MontgomeryCounty area.
In addition to her professional experience, Missy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond. Born and raised in MontgomeryCounty, Missy lives with her husband Rob, a Lt. Col. in the United States Marine Corps, and their three small children in Silver Spring, Md.
